Is The 'Report Abuse' function here used wrongy? READ DETAILS BEFORE ANSWERING PLEASE? Today I saw 2 questions. The first was 'where can i find teen sex video's' and was posted in the teen and pre-teen section, the question is still there. The second question was 'am I hot'?, this question was removed within 5 minutes.
It seems if you so something like post a question in the wrong category or, God forbid, offer free points your question is removed instantly, and people start going on about 'community guidelines' as if they're the 10 Commandents. Yet the same people that report harmless fun questions don't seem to bother reporting the really sick, violent or racist questions.
Oh, if this question is reported for abuse and removed it will just prove my point.... | Yes, I do think it is abused. A lot of this community has proven that they do not posess the objectivity required to enforce the Community Guidelines and let their prejudices get in the way. The Yahoo Answers Team also fails to act in their role as final judge as to what is and isn't acceptable and does not do the research to determine the legtimate abuses from the frivolous. It also doesn't help that one of the options on the drop down menu is OTHER which basically gives people license to report you because they don't like your screen name, Avatar, race, etc. The anonimity factor in reporting abuse doesn't help either. I believe that the accused has the right to face his or her accuser and explain him or herself. I have never reported anyone on here before but if I ever do, trust me, I will be glad to tell someone why I did as well as to listen to them explain themselves.
I personally don't like the reporting option. It is guyish. It is just like a guy running to Mom and Dad (Mommy, Billy said a naughty word, make him stop). Geez, people need to grow up in here. This is the Internet. Over half the people who type the offensive things are just taking advantage of the protection a computer offers. I doubt they would express their views in a public venue like a park or auditorium. Just like I don't believe the people that post questions about sex with infants are actual guy molesters. Most guy molesters are aware that their behavior is abnormal and don't actually want to announce it proudly to a room full of strangers.
Bottom line is that a person using the Internet has to have a thick skin. With all of the great things it offers, there are some drawbacks such as people who ask things to annoy or shock people. That's just the nature of the beast. If you are the type of person who gets their feelings hurt easily or can't tolerate oposing points of view, the Internet is not for you. Stick to forums where the participants are similar to you in terms of background, religion, etc. To the users who live to report people I leave you with this quote from Mike Brady; "When you tell on someone, not only are you telling on another person, you are telling on yourself and what you are telling people is that you are a tattletale" | Did my boyfriend watch porn ot not? I asked my boyfriend whether he watched porn on the pc, and he sweared on my life that he didn't. He's a pc expert and so had many possible explanations as to why these google search results (of images and videos) appeared in the history. I'm not sure whether I believe him as things haven't been that great between us recently.
We've been together 3.5 years and I was convinced he was the one for me. Now I've been financially supporting him for 2.5 years (he can't seem to find a job) and I'm trying very hard to function, having recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome (already having Graves' disease).
I just don't know what to do. It would help me to know whether it's possible to generate above-mentioned history without actually having visited the pages so I know whether he's lied to me. | | Porn is no big deal. Lying is. | Why dont the anti-abortionsists fun massive contraception and sex ed provision? Why dont the anti abortionists fund super detailed sex ed that coveres EVERYTHING, hand out free condoms, reaserach perfect contraception and see all pre teens are put on i before even capable of doing it, then its only removed after 6 months of form filling to indicate you are truely ready for guys after age 24?
Is it as they are part of the go forth and muliply cult who does not have a commmandment against rape as it would get in the way of go forth and multiply, why they hate gays too.
or that young single fit women have lots of power over men... untill they get pregnant?
Likwise why promote marriage given the divorce and domestic violence rate...
is it to fund places like this?
'The Magdelen Laundries' should be in your video shop but the tv drama 'sinners' was more accurate if you can find it.
over 30,000 were involved up till 1996...how old were you at that time?
How many of your friends, you or your sister could have ended up here. | I totally don't understand this either.
Most anti-abortionists favour no sex and no learning about such matters until marriage, and don't believe that women should make any decisions, just get married, stay home and look after the guys.
Some also believe that any type of contraception is evil excluding the rhythm method which doesn't actually work. Another belief is that women's sexuality is somehow 'evil' and promotes lust/rape/etc.
I have seen the 'Magdalen Sisters' film twice, but it would still shock me to see it again. I was raped a few years ago, so wonder if I could have ended up there given the right circumstances. My great aunt was raped by a policeman and got pregnant when she was young, and was then ostracised by most of the family because of the thinking at the time.
They mostly do believe the 'go forth and multiply' which I don't believe can now be in the physical sense of having many guyren, but more in the sense of spreading the seed of the Word of God.
Although there are high divorce and domestic violence rates, that doesn't prove that there is anything wrong with marriage, just that there is something wrong with people. I would make counselling obligatory for anyone wanting to divorce(!) | 3 Why dont the anti abortionists fund fully detailed sex ed & develop perfect contraception? How many of your friends, you or your sister could have ended up here. | Because they are often extremists. They don't believe in abortion nor sex before marriage. Sex without the purpose of procreation.
If these people would be more open to better sexual education and acess to better birth control then there would be less accidental preganancy which they disagree with.
But because they refuse to accept that sex is going to happen outside of marriage even if they don't agree with it and they remain closed to new ideas, this cycle will be constantly continuing. | Typically, does a young teen relationship grow closer once they move out together? Please read my situation? Me and my boyfriend are 16 years old. We have been together for 3 years!
Now, me and my boyfriend are the type of relationship who is so devoted to each other that we dont even /want/ to have friends of the opposite sex. we think its dumb to do that because we have each other. we are also both very down to earth, very very mature, and pretty quiet. we both love video games and guitar, etc.
We have the kind of relationship where we are very sweetsie and polite to each other, and also are so close we couldn't imagine being without.
We dont have a car yet, but we're getting there soon. Lately, although we dont dream of breaking up, we are feeling like theres nothing much to do and we need to both get out- together!
so my question is, once we get a car, and eventually move out when we're 19 or 20, will our relationship spice up? i feel like once we get our car and move out we will be free to do whatever we want together. was this true for you or someone you know/heard about? :] | | I can tell you i have been in your shoes. i had a guy like that and we were so in love and planning on marrying. once we moved out we were happy for a while but once things like bills and money issues got strained we were not as happy together we stayed for another 2 years together then it was the blame game why everything good we had was falling apart. so the best advice i can give u is make sure that when u do leave u have rules set. like no blaming each other when times get tough, being open about eveything because trust has to be there, planning on whats more imporant not just buying all new things when your on your own. another is dont get way in debt that causes a lot of couples heart ache. just take it slow and with the time u have now cherish every minute to see if its what both of u want. | How music artists make money from teens/parents? Thank you, feel free to explain your point also
Thanks again | You pretty much mentioned them all except for concerts, releasing albums, selling posters, writing a autobiography, which I don't really get why most of the young ones do this, like Miley Cyrus, what does she have to tell that is of substance and worth reading about? I think you should only write an autobiography after you've had more life experience and are more wiser, this way you can give meaningful advice. The last 50 years has seen family life in the UK change with the growth in single parents and step-families, accompanied by raised awareness and discussion about what good parenting looks like. The increase of gay parents is part of this next chapter, and a new study has unveiled the need for schools and families to play a greater role educating guyren about gay parents.
2,000 people were surveyed on behalf of Parenting UK about different aspects of gay parents. When it came to the role of schools, over two thirds of respondents said schools should educate pupils about gay parents.
And when it came to teaching gay and lesbian issues in the classroom, over two thirds of respondents said schools should educate pupils about these issues and include them in the curriculum.
The survey also looked at the role of parents educating their guyren about different family types. Over two thirds of parents said they had, or intended to, talk with their guy about different family types, such as gay parents.
The online video channel for parents, ParentChannel.tv (www.parentchannel.tv) has unveiled a new video clip which looks at the experiences of being a gay parent to coincide with the findings of the survey (video clip URL and embed code below):

When it came to broader issues of tackling homophobia, over 70 percent of respondents said homophobia should be treated in the same way as racism and over two thirds of respondents said schools should do more to prevent homophobic bullying/language at school, for example, using the “so gay” term to describe something that is rubbish.
However, a 2009 YouGov survey for Stonewall of over 2,000 primary and secondary school teachers showed that nine out in ten teachers have not received any specific training on how to tackle homophobic bullying and over a third of secondary school teachers and almost two thirds of primary school teachers have not addressed issues of sexual orientation in their lessons.
Jacqueline Harding at ParentChannel.tv said:
‘Gay parents have always existed. However, legal changes including the introduction of civil partnerships, and laws outlawing discrimination in relation to adoption, IVF and surrogacy, mean that many more gay and lesbian couples turn their aspirations to become parents into a reality.
‘The findings indicate that parents think more could be done in the school and at home to educate guyren about different types of families in today’s society and to tackle homophobic bullying.
The survey indicates that the majority of parents are comfortable talking to their guys about different types of families, like gay parents, but we recognise that some families may not know how to approach the subject and our new video gives advice on this.
‘Parents can talk to their guyren about the struggles that they see other guys facing. Lessons in caring, kindness, and tolerance are important for all families.
‘Both heterosexual and homosexual parents should strive to teach their guyren to be tolerant and accepting of other people. Some parents are gay and this needs to be recognised and accepted so we can get on with the job of helping all parents raise their guyren as well as possible.’

It just seems as if nowadays sex, violence, drugs is becoming an addiction for today's youth. It's as if it is more important what we possess than who we are, or so it seems to be. I was at the library today and I overheard this one elderly lady saying she was glad she'd be dead before "the deadhead teens of today run the world", and I just found this beyond insulting, but in a way she was right. Just the materialistic society in which we live in, and I guess we should at least feel fortunate; for all we really have to ponder are the vain philosophical aspects of modern living, but this is what bothers me most just the vanity of it all..it's all about me and what I own.
What happened to all the values such as self-control, respect for others, courtesy and even true and intimate love? It seems as if these are all losing out to the instant gratifications of material possessions and superficial outward beauty.
These guys can't be older than 11.. and just looking at what they do is sickening. I don't see anything wrong with name brands and having nice clothes, I'm guilty of this as well, but these are the sort of people who will grow to be very superficial and think that they need tons of expensive clothes to be happy.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=NT2q-iCi8…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3XdC3C6o…
What's happened to simply joy? It's becoming harder and harder to actually meet people who aren't shallow, superficial and it seems as if us, as human beings don't really care about all of the important values in life such as true love, respect etc. Most people just act as if they don't need any of these values in life particularly love and self respect. If they have a flashy car, designer clothes, video games etc. that's all they need in life to keep them happy.. but what about all of these IMPORTANT values that we take for granted? This society is insensitive, materialistic and shallow, and the only thing that is keeping me sane are the few one or two people that mean something to me. Funny thing, they come for free. I don't feel at home in this shallow world, I'm like an alien trapped in a strange planet. And I just want to go home. I don't know where that is anymore...I myself am a teen, but even I'm embarrassed by this. | At least there are a few people in the world who question it's culture. I would say You are right in just about everything You said. I could talk about this subject for ages but I'll try to keep it short. Today's culture is VERY based on material possesions, but that is nothing compared to the values that people have these days. I would be lying if I said that what people consider "values" are not materialistic. I think that the problem is that most people don't do enough thinking about what their values are. They are taught the usual values like be nice, respect your parents and elders, work hard etc. but those are only a few of a very large number of values and most people don't even know what they really mean or act upon them. Answers are pushed on to people when they should figure out the answer themselves. A lot of people these days are driven purely by physical acts like sex and drugs. Again people don't think how they can ruin their lives. Many people think sex is love but love is something completely different. They think drugs are the only thing that can make them happy because they don't really know what true joy and happiness is. People commit acts of violence out of greed, frustration, jealousy or all of them. They don't care what effect their action can have on others, they don't care about knowledge and reasoning, they are unwilling to accept that sometimes they are wrong, they have no manners or courtesy because they and very few people care about it.
I don't think it's just guys and adolescents, I think it's culture as a whole. But as always there are exeptions, but I can only think of one. When I was in grade 7 I had a teacher that was always talking about morals and values, he used to have a what he called a "philosophy circle" every firday where we would all sit down and talk about values and how we live our life. One day he actually got down on his knees and begged the class not to become materialistic and insensitive like his generation and do you know what my classmates did: they laughed at him. I couldn't belive that they could be so insensitive. I think he was the one that made me think about this. But the thing about him was that he didn't just preach about it, he showed it in everything he did.
Like You I don't see anything wrong with having nice possesions and clothes but I think You should wear clothes that represent You and that You like, Instead of just what's fashionable. I think appearance is for expressing Yourself so if you just wear what everyone else wears your not really being true to Yourself. Don't get me wrong just because everyone likes something doesn't mean You can't like it too. Just be true to Yourself, I know that sounds very common and meaningless but most people aren't.
You are right when You say it's becoming harder to meet people who aren't shallow and superficial but there are people out there who aren't(no matter how rare they might be).Well this is getting really long so I think i'll wrap it up.
Summed up I would say yes. |
